Privacy Policy
Updated October 2, 2026
Stacking Gains helps you keep nutrition records and see progress against your goals. This policy explains the information used to provide the app, optional AI features, assistant connections, subscriptions and support.
For questions about privacy or your data, contact support.
Current availability
Feature availability depends on your app version, account and subscription status. In-app text and photo estimates are enabled for eligible accounts, with permission and within usage limits. SG Pro is the paid plan; the app shows whether a purchase or feature is available to your account. Compatible custom assistant connections and public provider-directory listings are separate: a working custom connection does not mean a directory listing has been approved.
Information we handle
- Account and sign-in information: your name, email address, account identifier and authentication records. Sign in with Apple may provide a private relay address. Passwords for email accounts are stored as hashes, not readable passwords. Authentication and security records can include IP addresses and device or browser information.
- Nutrition records: food descriptions, meal dates, calories, macros, saved meals, goal modes and nutrition targets you enter or authorize an assistant to enter. Your device also keeps a local copy of app data for the app to work and synchronize.
- AI inputs: descriptions and photos you choose to submit for a nutrition estimate, and the resulting estimates. If you request an AI nutrition review, the input also includes your nutrition targets, recent averages and logging counts. Please avoid including unrelated personal information in an image or description.
- Assistant connections: the connected application, permissions, authorization and revocation records, and records of tool requests and results needed to operate the connection and prevent duplicate writes.
- Subscriptions: your SG account identifier, product and transaction information, trial and renewal status, and whether subscription access is active. Apple handles payment credentials; SG does not receive your full payment-card details.
- Product usage and diagnostics: supported feature-use events, screen names, identifiers, app and operating-system versions, and filtered error events when product analytics is enabled. These measurements may be linked to your SG account. We do not send meal descriptions, photos, macro targets, custom meal or mode names, or support-message text in our product analytics events. We do not enable session recording.
- Support: messages and any screenshots you choose to send us, your contact information, and optional device/app diagnostics. Support screenshots are different from photos submitted for an AI food estimate: a support attachment is retained with the support conversation.
How we use information
We use this information to maintain your account, synchronize your diary, show your targets and history, process requested estimates, carry out authorized assistant requests, verify subscription access, respond to support requests and send transactional emails. We also use limited usage and security records to find faults, improve the product, prevent abuse and control service usage.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, or share nutrition records with third parties for their marketing. Your diary is not a public feed. Connecting an assistant is a choice you make separately.
Optional AI estimation and reviews
When the feature is available, with your permission, and when you request an in-app AI estimate, SG sends the description or image you selected to Anthropic through its API. An AI nutrition review instead sends the targets, averages and logging counts described above. This is separate from connecting your own assistant. The food-estimation route processes image content without saving a server-side photo library; nutrition values and descriptions you save become diary records. In app versions with this control, you can reset permission for future requests on your device under Settings → In-app AI privacy. Resetting permission does not retrieve inputs already sent.
Anthropic has its own processing and retention rules. Its standard API policy generally deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, with contractual, safety and legal exceptions. SG does not promise zero retention by Anthropic. See Anthropic's retention information.
AI estimates can be wrong. You can review and change an estimate before saving it, or use manual entry instead.
Connecting an external assistant
For eligible accounts where a supported connection is available, you sign in to SG and approve the permissions shown for that application. Read access lets the assistant request the supported diary, targets, saved meals, modes and summary information. Read and log access also lets it add entries and undo entries attributable to its connection. Full control adds the supported editing and plan-management actions. Only permissions you approve are granted; full control is not the default.
The assistant provider receives information returned by the tools it calls. Its account settings and privacy policy apply to its handling of that information. Review both the application name and requested permissions before approving.
You can disconnect or change permissions in SG. Disconnecting stops that authorization from making further successful requests; it does not cancel a subscription, erase your diary, or retrieve information the provider already received. Diary entries and duplicate-prevention receipts can remain after disconnecting. Removing an entry from the visible diary can leave a historical tool receipt so a repeated request does not recreate it. See Your data and account for deletion options.
Visiting this website
The current stackinggains.com website provides information and links to the app and support. It has no email-signup form, web checkout, advertising pixel, session replay or SG-installed website analytics. Its navigation and testimonial controls do not save information in browser storage. Images and fonts are served with the site rather than loaded from a third-party font service.
OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare deliver and protect the website. They can process routine request information such as IP address, requested URL, browser/device information and security events, and may use cookies or similar mechanisms necessary to operate or protect the hosting service. This is separate from optional analytics inside the app. We do not use this website to build health-data advertising audiences.
Choosing a support email link opens your email application; information you send is handled as support correspondence. Links to Apple and other services take you to sites with their own privacy practices. If we add forms, analytics or checkout, we will update this notice and obtain any permission required for that collection.

These providers process information to deliver their services. Information may be processed outside your home country, including in the United States. Provider processing does not remove SG's responsibility for its own handling of your data.
Retention, deletion and security
We keep account and diary records while needed to provide your account. Successful in-app account deletion removes your account-owned records from the active application database, including diary, goals, presets and connection records. It does not automatically delete all copies held by separate providers, support mailboxes or backups. Limited billing, security, support or backup records may remain for operational or legal purposes; contact us to request review of these records.
Deleting your SG account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel separately in Apple subscriptions to stop future renewals. Disconnecting an assistant and deleting the SG app from your device also do not cancel a subscription.
We use authenticated access, encrypted network connections and account-level access controls. No system can guarantee complete security. Please keep your device and account secure, and do not send passwords or authorization tokens to support.
Your choices
You can review and correct available records in the app, manage assistant permissions, and delete your account under Settings. Contact support@stackinggains.com to request access, export, correction or deletion assistance. We may need to verify that a request comes from the account owner. Additional rights may apply where you live.
You can choose not to use AI estimation, not to connect an assistant, and not to attach a screenshot or optional diagnostics to a support report.
Change or disconnect an assistant
Where available in your app version, open SG's connection settings to review an assistant's permissions or disconnect it. Permission changes may require reconnecting. Disconnecting stops future access under that authorization. It does not remove diary entries or information already received by the assistant provider, and does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Delete your SG account
In SG, open Settings → Delete Account, read the notice and confirm the deletion. Successful deletion removes your account-owned records from SG's active app database, including your food diary, saved meals, goals and connections. This action cannot be undone through the app.
Support correspondence, provider billing records and backups are separate from the active app database. They may require separate handling. Contact support@stackinggains.com for a request covering these records or for help if you cannot sign in. Do not send passwords or access tokens.
Subscription cancellation is separate
Open Apple subscriptions and cancel any SG Pro subscription you purchased. Deleting your SG account, deleting the app or disconnecting an assistant does not cancel it. For an eligible trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends if you do not want the paid subscription.
Access, export or correct information
Use the app to review and edit supported diary records. For an export or additional privacy request, email support@stackinggains.com. We may verify account ownership before responding. For records an external assistant already received, also use that provider's privacy and deletion controls.
Security and assistant permissions
An assistant connection gives a particular application permission to work with your SG account. It does not give the assistant your SG password or unrestricted access to other users' records.
Choose the access you need
- Read: request the supported diary, target, preset, mode and summary information.
- Read and log: also add food entries and undo entries created through that connection.
- Full control: additionally use the supported editing and plan-management tools. This is optional and is not required for ordinary food logging.
Review the application name and permissions on SG's authorization screen before approving. If you did not start the connection request, do not approve it. Supported OAuth connections use sign-in and permission approval. Custom token integrations use a separately generated token; enter it only in a compatible secure credential field, not ordinary chat.
Stay in control
Use SG's Connections settings to review permissions or disconnect. Changing permissions can require a new authorization. Disconnecting invalidates the old authorization for future requests. It does not erase records already in your diary or information already received by the other provider.
SG checks account access and tool permissions on the server. Supported logging tools use duplicate-prevention keys so retrying the same authorized request does not add a second meal. These safeguards do not guarantee that an assistant's estimate or interpretation is correct; review your diary and correct mistakes.
In-app AI estimates use Anthropic after your permission and are separate from external-assistant connections. Any available nutrition-review feature uses the sharing controls described above. In versions with the sharing control, use Settings → In-app AI privacy to reset permission for future requests.
Report a problem
Email support@stackinggains.com with the app version, approximate time and a description of the issue. Do not include passwords, authorization tokens or another person's records. Crop unrelated personal information from screenshots. No system can guarantee complete security.
